A colourable table cover is a table cover whose outline patterns can be coloured in by children, then wiped clean and used again. It protects the table while giving children an activity that holds their attention at the table for a long time. It is particularly useful at birthdays, New Year celebrations, classroom activities and long family meals.
The cover is designed to be coloured in with water-soluble felt-tip pens. Children colour the patterns however they like; when the activity is over, the surface is wiped with a damp cloth and the cover returns to plain white. Permanent markers should not be used — marks from those pens will not come off the surface.
Colouring supports the development of fine motor skills in the preschool period; skills such as holding a pen, staying within lines and choosing colours are reinforced in the process. Because the wide surface of the table cover allows several children to work side by side at once, it also offers practice in sharing and working together. The patterns lend themselves to storytelling, creating a natural basis for starting conversations with children.

Which pens should be used?
Water-soluble, washable felt-tip pens should be used. Permanent pens, wax crayons and markers leave marks on the surface.
How many times can it be used?
With the right pens and cleaning method, the cover can be coloured in and wiped clean many times over.
Will it fit my table?
The 100x140 cm size covers the majority of standard six-seater dining tables. On larger tables the cover can be laid across the middle section.
How does it differ from the party tablecloth?
